All holders of a federal or recognised foreign specialist title in medical oncology are obliged to undertake continuous education, irrespective of their degree of employment, for as long as they practise medicine in Switzerland. According to the continuous education regulations of the FMH, 50 hours (50 credits) of verifiable and structured continuous education and 30 hours of self-study are required annually. The continuous education obligation applies from the following year in which the specialist exam was taken. You can find more information on the FMH website.
Based on the continuous education regulations of the FMH, the SSMO regulates the continuous education for physicians with the specialist title of medical oncologist in the continuous education programme.
