FAQs

If you have questions about the postgraduateeducation programme, e.g., about the duration or recognition of postgraduate education, you can submit an enquiry to the relevant Title Commission (TC) via the e-logbook. Typically, the request is answered by making an assessment. The assessment records which postgraduate education is already recognised and which postgraduate education you still need in order to be able to apply for the specialist title in medical oncology.

If you have any questions about the catalogue of learning objectives, please contact the SSMO office. They will forward the request to the responsible person in the SSMO Education Commission.

All recognised clinics (A and B clinics) can be found on the SIWF homepage.

To have a foreign specialist title recognised, you must contact MEBEKO (Medical Professions Commission) of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). Further information can be found on the FOPH website.

The application forms and guidelines for recognition can be found on the SIWF page. Submit your application via SIWF to the responsible Postgraduate Education Centre Commission (WBSK). As part of the accreditation procedure, the applicant clinic is usually visited, i.e., representatives of the SIWF and the specialist society visit the institution and get an idea of the postgraduate education on site. Based on the submitted documents and the visitors’ report, the WBSK decides on recognition as an A or B clinic for medical oncology.

Legal action may be taken against decisions of the TC and the WBSK. Address your appeal to Appeals Commission for Postgraduate Education Titles.
